Chapter 2
Putting down the phone, the discomfort in the lower abdomen remained.
Thinking about how I had just lost another child, and how he was killed by his own biological father’s hands, I felt a heartache so Intense that it was difficult to breathe.
1 I locked myself in the bathroom, recalling every little detall of these years with Leroy, letting tears fall freely.
When I got up, my phone accidentally fell on the ground.
I lowered my head to plek up something, but I discovered that underneath the sink cabinet, there was something wrapped in layers of expensive silk, exceptionally cherished.
Opening it, I realized that it was a thick photo album.
All the photos of Fiona, from when she was 15 years old to her current age of 28.
I had seen the appearance of the photo album cover in Leroy’s office.
And Leroy, loved photography.
Although Leroy is Jeffrey’s uncle, he is only a few years older than us.
When he was a child, he would often look at me and Jeffrey causing a ruckus with a cold expression on his face, as if he couldn’t be bothered to participate in the childish games of little bra
Until the age of 15, Fiona took the initiative to befriend me. Without much thought, I introduced her to Jeffrey and Leroy as well, as I always saw her alone.
It seems that from that time on, Leroy started joining our activities and also began learning
photography.
I thought it was a change in character as the boy grew up, but it turned out that he had met someone
he liked.
The photos in the album, only a few of them were ones I had seen before, most of them were
moments that I had never even noticed.
Every frown, every smile, every annoyance, every anger of Fiona, even just a hair being fixed, was captured by Leroy’s camera.
Since we got married, Leroy has never touched a camera again.
Once, I wanted him to take a photo of me while I was pregnant, but he said he had lost his camera and then turned around to introduce me to a famous photographer.
It turned out that it was not lost, but only his lens, which could only be filled with beloved ones.

My eyes were dry, unable to shed a single tear. I silently put the photo album back.
I bought the plane ticket using my phone and drafted a divorce agreement.
Since he loved Flona so much, I would help himn.
The next morning, my eyes were swollen like walnuts.
Leroy felt extremely sorry and personally prepared a nutritious meal for me. He also cooked eggs, carefully peeled them, and helped me reduce swelling.
The attentive and considerate appearance made me almost doubt if last night’s events were just a
dream.
My empty stomach reminded me that everything was real.
Seeing me silent, he sighed and said, “Bryanna, we lost our child. I know you’re upset, and I am too. But you also need to take care of yourself. You’ve had so many miscarriages over the years, and your health is already poor. Please eat more and don’t make me worry, okay?”
“Where is the child’s body? I want to see him.”
Three months had passed, and my child had already formed, but there was never a chance for them
to come into the world.
And the answer I got was the same as the previous seven times, “I have already had someone bury
the child properly. You are not in a good emotional state now, and I am afraid it will make you sad if
you see it.”
“Mom and Dad knew that you had another miscarriage, and they were also very sad. Let’s go back to our old house today for dinner and visit them.”
As soon as I entered the old house, I saw Fiona clinging to her mother–in–law’s arm, acting
coquettishly.
Seeing me, she proudly pushed her belly higher. “Oh, Bryanna is here? Long time no see, please have a seat. I heard you had another miscarriage, don’t overexert yourself.”
Since the wedding incident, Jeffrey, Fiona, and I have been at odds with each other. We avoid being
at the old house at the same time as them.
I didn’t expect it to be so coincidental today.
I looked at her six–month–old belly and thought about how it was Leroy’s child. It pained my heart.
He never allowed my unborn child to live for more than three months.
As soon as she saw me, my mother–in–law’s face immediately darkened. “Useless waste, you can’t even keep a child in your belly. How many times has this happened? And you have the audacity to

say you’re tired? How did my son end up with someone like you?”
She was Leroy’s biological mother, but she was Jeffrey’s step–grandmother, and she was only fifty years old this year.
How could she not be angry when she watched the chairman position, which originally belonged to her son, being taken away by Jeffrey?
In the past, sed to stand up for me, but now his eyes are only on Fiona. His gaze i
Leroy filled with longing and infatuation, and he can’t hear what others are saying at all.
“Grandmother, please don’t be angry. Bryanna just didn’t have the luck to become a mother in her life. She didn’t want to lose so many children either.”
The mother–in–law snorted coldly, “A jinx like you will only drag down my son.”
Fiona pretended to show affection and tried to pull me to sit down, but as soon as I stood up, she suddenly swayed.
Even though she quickly regained her balance, Leroy still pushed me away.
Ignoring his parents‘ presence, he embraced her tightly and anxiously asked, “Fiona, are you okay? You’re pregnant, why did you come out alone? Where is Jeffrey?”
Fiona sweetly smiled and said, “Jeffrey went on a business trip to Starryholt, he is about to take over as the chairman, and he is extremely busy.”
She looked at me with a provocative gaze, and in a coquettish voice, she said to Leroy, “Leroy, it seems like I just sprained my ankle, it hurts so much-”
Without saying a word, Leroy picked up the princess and headed straight to the second–floor bedroom, without even glancing at me.
My mother–in–law gave me a meaningful look and sarcastically said, “Not only can’t you lay eggs, but you can’t even keep a man. If it weren’t for Jeffrey marrying Fiona first, would my son even consider you? Have the decency to go upstairs, I lose my appetite just by seeing you.”
