Chapter 8
“It was her who stole the bodies of the children, but it was you who killed those children with your own hands. Now, saying all this, don’t you find it ridiculous?”
Leroy’s eyes were filled with guilt. “Bryanna, I’m sorry, I really know I was wrong.”
“I have already removed the child from Fiona’s belly, so she won’t come out to hinder us anymore. As long as you like, I can also go and compete for the position of chairman. Bryanna, as long as you come back with me, I can do anything.”
I looked into his teary eyes and said slowly, “Then just go die.”
“What?”
Leroy was stunned, staring wide–eyed in disbelief.
“Didn’t you say you can do anything? Then go die, go sacrifice yourself for my children.”
The first time I saw Leroy’s face, I was at a loss.
“Bryanna, do you hate me so much?”
“Yes, I not only hate you, but also despise you. I feel physically disgusted when I see you, so the farther you go, the better. Do you understand?”
Leroy seemed to have been severely struck, kneeling in front of me with tears streaming down his face.
I silently looked down at him, with no ripples in my heart.
“Leroy, when I married you, I truly envisioned spending my whole life with you, but what about you? For Fiona’s sake, you repeatedly terminated my pregnancies, watching my body grow weaker day by day, subjecting me to the mockery of your mother and strangers.”
“Even so, I pleaded with you, I begged you not to make me drink that glass of milk, but you still forced me to drink it.”
“I never cared about the identity of the chairman’s wife. Whether you are rich or not, it has nothing to do with me. Even the position of your wife, as long as you tell me, I can give it up. I will take the children and leave, never bothering you, but you didn’t say anything and took away my qualification as a mother without my consent, making me suffer the pain of losing my child again and again.”
“Leroy, admit it, you never saw me as a person in your heart.”
Leroy cried and shook his head, “No, it wasn’t like that…”
“Leroy, I was doing very well now, ever since I left you, I have been so free and happy. If you truly
want to make it up to me, just sign the divorce agreement and never appear in front of me for the rest of our lives.”
After saying that, I never looked at him again and turned around to leave.
Elaina dumped the basket of strongly fishy–smelling fish and shrimp over Leroy’s head, smashing the basket hard onto his body. “Leroy, if you still have any humanity left in you, leave Bryanna alone and stop bothering her.”
Leroy knelt for a long time, allowing the people around him to point and whisper, until he finally left in the late night, stumbling in his steps.
The next day, I found a divorce agreement at the doorstep.
Leroy eventually signed the document.
A few days later, a huge sum of money suddenly appeared in my account, reaching several billion.
Elaina ran up to me, holding her phone, looking surprised and excited.
Several explosive news caught the eye. “Fiona Morton, the daughter–in–law of the Martinez Group who had been missing for a year, was found dead in the basement of her husband’s uncle’s house. The scene of her death was tragic, with a huge wound on her abdomen and the whereabouts of the fetus unknown. There were also other body tissues found in her stomach, leading to the preliminary conclusion….”
“The president of the Martinez Group, Leroy, surrendered himself and confessed to the crime of killing Fiona. In addition, he also admitted to colluding with Fiona and repeatedly giving abortion pills to his pregnant ex–wife, resulting in multiple miscarriages…”
In the first trial, Leroy was sentenced to death according to the law. His parents fainted at home and were taken to Central Hospital for treatment. Jeffrey officially took over as the Chairman of the
Martinez Group. The Martinez Group’s stocks plummeted, resulting in estimated losses…
Elaina was stunned, stuttering, “Is Leroy crazy?”
I stared at the account balance and didn’t speak for a long time.
In the end, I decided to keep the money and establish a children’s rescue foundation. It was a way for me to accumulate merits for my children, hoping that they would be born into good families in
their next lives.
The script was completed smoothly, and both Elaina and I made a lot of money. We celebrated at
home by drinking alcohol.
As I was under the influence of alcohol, she asked me, “Will you be sad if Leroy died?”
In a drunken haze, there was a moment when I seemed to see the day Leroy and I took our wedding
photos.
Our heads were leaning against each other, filled with beautiful visions of the future life.
