Story6–Chapter 1
The day before the wedding, my best friend Talia Griffin drove and accidentally killed my mom.
My fiancé did not blame her and showed off their marriage certificate.
I took Talia to court, causing a scene at the wedding demanding her life, but ended up becoming a laughingstock.
In the moment of despair, my childhood friend Braylon Spencer proposed to me in public, saying that he would be my lifelong support.
I agreed with him.
I entrusted him with handling the car accident case.
He said Talia was put in prison, and I believed him.
In the third year of marriage, however, I accidentally overheard his conversation with a lawyer.
“Mr. Spencer, did you marry Patricia Hensley just for a letter of forgiveness? But why did you involve yourself in a car accident case?”
“Only by getting married could I write a letter of forgiveness on behalf of Patricia as a family member, in exchange for Talia’s freedom.”
“She’s now happy abroad. I can do anything for her.”
The marriage that I once considered as redemption turned out to be a carefully planned deception
by him.
The letter of forgiveness in my name and Talia’s freedom were what he sought in his heart.
The person who left was me.

In the office, Braylon looked at the photos of Talia abroad on his computer, smiling with a broken heart and regret.
“It has been three years, just seeing her happy is enough for me, even if her happiness is not from
me.”
“As for Patricia… I have spent the second half of my life making it up to her. This matter was in the
past.”
The company’s legal department was extremely angry, but they were helpless against him.
“Mr. Spencer, how could you joke about a murder case when the company has finally started to develop? If this were discovered by rival companies, not only would you, but the entire Spencer

family’s business empire would suffer huge losses!”
“It is a fact that Ms. Griffin Intentionally committed murder, why did you have to get involved in. this mess? She never loved you in the first place!”
Braylon’s face turned cold, and his tone was unfriendly.
“Enough, I’ve told you not to mention this matter again. I don’t believe Talia intentionally killed anyone; she must have done it accidentally. I have already taken care of Mrs. Hensley’s affairs, which can be considered as giving an explanation to the Hensley family.”
“If it meant saving her, I would even give up my life. A company is nothing compared to that!”
The lawyer became a little impatient..
“What about Ms. Hensley? She would eventually find out about this, and once she goes to the prison. to see Talia, all your plans will be ruined!”
“You saved the killer who murdered her mother in her name. What if she finds out?”
Braylon fell silent for a moment and reached out to light a cigarette for himself.
“I won’t let her know for the rest of her life. It has been three years, and she should be released
soon.”
“Go ahead and make arrangements, but remember, don’t let Patricia find out.”
“Mr. Spencer, as a lawyer, I remind you that the things you have done cannot go unnoticed. In your pursuit of a murderer, you have harmed even more innocent people. If Ms. Hensley found out, you would be completely finished!”
Tears rolled down the chin.
I was shaking all over and could hardly hold the lunchbox steady.
The footsteps gradually approached, and I hurriedly hid in the stairwell.
Originally, my mother’s fatal car acciden
was not even filed.
Talia was also not imprisoned and punished as he claimed.
She was living a carefree life abroad instead.
All of this, however, was done by my husband, who I loved to the core.
His humble bowing and his patient retreat were all for the redemption of his beloved in his heart.
For three years of marriage, I lived in the web of lies he carefully spun.
I thought I was living a happy life, but in reality, I was living in hell.
It was truly ironic.
I stumbled and ran downstairs, standing at the entrance of the company.
I had been waiting here for five hours.
The last glimmer of light in the building went out.
His figure finally appeared.
When he saw me, he tenderly held my hand.
“Why didn’t you come in when you arrived? How long have you been waiting?”
“Not long after, I just arrived and found out that you have been busy lately. I brought you some food that I made myself. The secretary said you were in a meeting, so I left.”
“Don’t bring it next time, your health was not good, I would feel sorry if you got tired.”
After saying that, he embraced me and kissed my forehead.
The actions were as tender and gentle as before.
But I could no longer feel his warmth.
One person, for the sake of another person, could truly go to such an extent.
He led me into the passenger seat and casually spoke, “By the way, Talia is about to be released from prison. After all, you two used to have a good relationship. She had received the appropriate punishment for this several projects with. hatter. Moreover, the company is now collaborating o the Garner family. So, what do you think if…”
“Well, it was all in the past. I won’t come for her anymore, so don’t worry.”
He sighed with relief, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.
“Thank you for understanding, darling. I’m lucky to be with you.”
I turned my head and looked at the scenery outside the window, tears silently sliding down.
When I got home, I turned on his computer while he was washing up.
