Chapter 3
The next morning, Oswaldo hurriedly returned.
The first thing he did was not to come and check if I had a fever, but to go to the study and inspect
his safe.
I watched his back and sneered.
Didn’t you say you weren’t afraid of me finding out? Why are you so nervous then?
But suddenly, the police came to the house.
They left only after repeatedly confirming that the overseas phone call was not from a scammer.
Oswaldo was puzzled, “Alyvia, what are you planning to do with these monitored international calls? They are all done by criminals.”
I was unsure of what reasons to find, and he comfortingly embraced me.
“Alright, just tell me directly if you have any difficulties. Those people were desperados who were
capable of doing anything.”
This bottomless indulgence, however, made me almost nauseous.
He knew very well that the person opposite was insane, but for Michelle’s sake, he still took out the
phone and kidnapped my daughter.
I clenched my hands, but my face remained as admiring as ever.
“Oswaldo, it was so good to have you.”
Oswaldo brought a medicinal wine to rub away the bruises on my hands.
“I went to see the doctor yesterday on purpose.”
Looking at the production address on the label that said Bridgeford Industrial Park, I didn’t expose
his lie.
Yesterday, he sent me a text message about booking a room with Michelle.
I didn’t check out of the room until this morning.
After rubbing the medicinal wine, he took out a dessert.
“It was the hotel that you liked to eat at.”
Lopened it and it was exactly the strawberry flavor that I liked.
The desserts of this hotel were only prepared for the VIP guests who stayed.

It seems that they went to the suite I rented yesterday.
Originally, there were four small cakes, but now only two are left.
Michelle couldn’t have possibly overlooked this matter.
It can only be said that she deliberately wanted to disgust me.
She wanted to tell me that I only deserved to eat what she had left.
Cakes were, and so were men.
The disgust in my heart grew heavier, and I pushed the cake away.
“I didn’t have an appetite.”
Oswaldo was shocked and called the family doctor to examine me thoroughly.
He only relaxed his furrowed brow after confirming that I had nothing major going on.
“Alyvia, you go to sleep for a while, I will go and cook porridge for you.”
As soon as he left, I threw the cake into the trash bin.
Not long after, there was suddenly a commotion downstairs.
I stood by the window and looked out, there was Michelle with a frightened face.
She jumped into Oswaldo’s arms like a little rabbit.
Oswaldo was initially startled, he turned around and looked at me, but he didn’t loosen his grip.
Oswaldo’s face turned angry, not knowing what Michelle had said.
The two of them quickly came to my room.
As soon as I entered, Oswaldo slapped me.
“What were you thinking, actually contacting overseas fugitives to kidnap Michelle?”
“Back then, your daughter was kidnapped and Waylon refused to pay, it wasn’t her fault.”
“If I had known you were like this, I shouldn’t have married you!”
I couldn’t dodge in time and was knocked down to the ground.
The vase behind me was smashed and I fell into a pile of broken glass.
Michelle, with pear blossoms glistening with rain, glanced with a hint of pride in her eyes.
I just remembered that her brother was at the police station, so he must have known about the
overseas phone call earlier.

She married Waylon as she had wished, and surprisingly, she even wanted to completely dominate
Oswaldo.
Oswaldo glared at me angrily, demanding that I apologize to Michelle,
Those false expressions of love, at this moment, finally revealed their icy true nature.
I didn’t explain, I stood up and made the overseas call in front of Oswaldo,
“Sister–in–law, why are you calling ine at this hour? Is there something urgent?”
Oswaldo’s little cousin’s voice came from the other end of the phone.
The two of them immediately changed their facial expressions.
I hung up the phone and asked them, “What are you afraid of? It’s just a long–distance call, isn’t
it?”
“How come you guys are so well aware of the fact that those kidnappers used to have a business of hiring hitmen?”
Oswaldo’s face turned pale. “I, I only heard about it from the mercenaries when I went to rescue people last time.”
I touched my face and said, “So, it wouldn’t be too much to apologize to Ms. Norton.”
Oswaldo quickly stood in front of Michelle and said, “Alyvia, Michelle was also frightened. You
shouldn’t have been so relentless.”
“I will go and buy you a bag later, and that will be the end of it.”
I was covered in glass, and blood was gushing out.
But the man in front of me, who even made me shed tears because I was so heartbroken, seemed as
if he couldn’t see me.
I sneered and was about to speak, but Michelle started crying.
“Oswaldo, Alyvia must have hated me for taking Waylon away, that’s why they plotted against me.‘
“It’s okay, she just wanted to vent her anger, so I knelt down and apologized to her.”
“I had finally managed to have a child, and I couldn’t bear to be frightened. I beg Alyvia to spare
me.”
She bent her knee slightly and then doubled over, clutching her stomach and leaning to one side.
Oswaldo hastily picked her up, gave me a fierce glare, and walked away while holding her.
After a while, Marlie entered the room and exclaimed, “Mrs. Dougherty, how come you were

bleeding so much?”
I just woke up and belatedly felt the pain on my body.
Marlie was in a hurry to call Oswaldo.
I stopped her and said, “No need, he knew.”
Oswaldo knew that Michelle was lying.
But he still disregarded and defended Michelle.
Just like five years ago, he kidnapped my daughter for Michelle.
That’s it then, Oswaldo, I will soon disappear as you wish.
