Chapter 5
Oswaldo felt like he was having hallucinations, otherwise how could both sides be saying such absurd things to him.
The secretary stepped aside with a knowing look.
The police began to recount the specific details of the case.
After Shadow Gang entered the country, they immediately informed Oswaldo to take precautions.
To my surprise, Oswaldo actually left his wife alone at home.
Oswaldo frowned deeply and said, “The home security system alarm was my wife playing around.”
The police sighed, “But your villa had already caught fire.”
Michelle walked out when she heard the sound and said, “Wow, I didn’t expect Alyvia to be so stubborn. She actually burned down the house just to get your attention.”
“Officer, you said Alyvia was kidnapped. Did you receive any leads?”
The police officer shook his head.
Michelle waved her hand and said, “That’s it, if she had been kidnapped, Oswaldo should have received a ransom letter. But we have been here for a whole night and haven’t received anything.”
Oswaldo felt something was wrong, Alyvia was not the type to act so recklessly.
Even though Waylon ignored her and their daughter.
She just calmly went around looking for people to gather money.
Just as Oswaldo was about to explain, Michelle stopped him alone.
The police, helpless, said “Be careful and left.”
Oswaldo was about to call Alyvia when the secretary intervened.
“Mr. Dougherty, look at this that Mrs. Dougherty sent.”
Oswaldo took it, it was a parent–child report.
The above clearly indicates that Alyvia and Thalia Dougherty were not mother and daughter.
Oswaldo’s breath hitched, and he clenched the paper tightly.
Did Alyvia finally find out?
Michelle leaned over and took a look, chuckling sarcastically, “See, I told you Alyvia was just fooling around by burning the house.”

“She just wanted to let off some steam, nothing would happen.”
As Michelle explained seemingly reasonably, Oswaldo’s unease in his heart couldn’t dissipate no
matter what.
Oswaldo looked at the secretary and asked, “Is Mrs. Dougherty not reachable?”
The secretary nodded heavily.
Oswaldo furrowed his brow and ordered, “It has only been three hours since the security system alarm went off. She can’t have gone far. Hurry and take people to find her.”
“Bring all the bodyguards, we must find the person as soon as possible.”
Michelle pouted discontentedly, “You had the secretary take the person away, what about our safety?”
“You should know that the Shadow Gang were a group of ruthless demons who killed without hesitation.”
Oswaldo suddenly felt uneasy and grabbed Michelle. “How do you know about the people seeking revenge, the Shadow Gang? I have never told you about them.”
Michelle suddenly realized that she had let slip.
Oswaldo already felt guilty towards Alyvia, if he had known that Shadow Gang was brought by
himself…
With tears streaming down her face, Michelle covered her stomach and said, “Oswaldo, this is what the police just said.”
“I finally managed to get pregnant, but you treated me like this… Didn’t you say that as long as Waylon and I are happy, you would do anything for me?”
Oswaldo finally let go of his hand.
The present Michelle had red eyes, like a little rabbit.
In the past, whenever she put on such a look, she would soften her heart.
But today, there was only irritation left.
Oswaldo suppressed his anxiety and forced a smile as he escorted Michelle back to the ward.
“I was too tired these past few days, that’s why I couldn’t control my temper.‘
“Take good care of yourself during pregnancy. If you’re worried about safety, I’ll leave, and it will be me that Shadow Gang seeks revenge on.”
Oswaldo got up to leave, but just as he was about to go, worried Michelle held him back.

“Oswaldo, no, I was even more afraid when you left.”
Michelle, who was incredibly attached to him, he saw for the first time.
In the past, Michelle only had Waylon in her heart, and her feelings for him were always faint.
Only that time when he said he would help Michelle raise their daughter, did she show a smile on
her face.
Something that used to be so eagerly desired, now feels a bit tedious to oneself.
Alyvia never used to do this.
At this thought, Oswaldo suddenly stood up.
Ignoring Michelle’s cries, he walked straight out.
I couldn’t let the secretary go and had to go myself.
Alyvia must be extremely upset now, otherwise she wouldn’t have done such an outrageous thing as setting the house on fire.
The matter with my daughter, I was the one who let her down.
Once I found Alyvia, I wholeheartedly stayed by her side.
And then they had a child of their own.
For the rest of my life, I will compensate Alyvia with all my love.
Just as he left the hospital, Oswaldo received a call from his secretary.
“Oh no, Mr. Dougherty, the Shadow Gang has sent a ransom letter.”
