Chapter 6
Oswaldo suddenly stepped on the brake and, regardless of everything, started making a phone call in the middle of the road.
“Mr. Dougherty, the letter stated that if you don’t want the truth about your involvement in planning the kidnapping of the child and switching the children to be exposed, you should pay two billion.”
“What about the others?”
Oswaldo held his phone, constantly hoping that Alyvia had not fallen into their hands.
The secretary over there paused for a moment and said, “Nothing else was mentioned.”
Oswaldo breathed a sigh of relief, “So you’re saying they didn’t kidnap Mrs. Dougherty?”
The secretary then realized, “It didn’t mention in the letter, but Mrs. Dougherty couldn’t be
reached either.”
Oswaldo regretted it and said, “Then Mrs. Dougherty didn’t have any trouble, go find her quickly.”
Just as I hung up the phone, a strange number called in.
Oswaldo hurriedly answered, “Alyvia, is that you?”
There was a moment of silence before I remembered Michelle’s voice, filled with grievances, saying, “Oswaldo is me.”
“Waylon went on a business trip and won’t be back for a while. Can you come back to the hospital and keep me company?”
Oswaldo’s hopes in his heart all turned into illusions.
Every time Michelle and Waylon used to argue, or when Waylon had something going on, Michelle
would call herself.
Whenever, he would immediately rush to Michelle’s side.
Even on Alyvia’s birthday, as soon as the birthday candles were lit, he left the house.
And that time when Alyvia had a cyst removal surgery, he also stayed by Michelle’s side.
Something that used to be enjoyable, now he only finds Michelle annoying.
“They all told you that I had something to do! Can’t you understand human language?”
As soon as the words were spoken, Oswaldo felt it was over.
Michelle burst into tears, feeling deeply aggrieved.

Oswaldo patiently explained, “I have to find Alyvia first, otherwise she will be in danger if she falls into the hands of the Shadow Gang.”
Michelle replied impatiently, “Oswaldo, have you been pretending to be a devoted husband for so long that you even started believing it yourself? What did Shadow Gang do to Michelle?”
Others didn’t know that you didn’t love Michelle, how could Shadow Gang not know?
It was you who planned everything from the beginning.
Oswaldo was momentarily stunned, and strangely accepted this absurd reason in his mind.
Yeah, Shadow Gang knew that Alyvia had no place in their hearts, so they probably wouldn’t lay a
hand on her.
Oswaldo didn’t dare to gamble, so he casually brushed off Michelle and continued searching.
Soon, the police station called.
He hurriedly went to the police station and looked at the surveillance footage that had already been
restored.
Several burly men with Shadow Gang insignias grabbed Alyvia and stuffed her into a sack.
Oswaldo incredulously lunged towards the computer and replayed it several times.
The woman in the picture, that’s Alyvia, no doubt.
She was still wrapped in bandages, and blood seeped out as she struggled.
Oswaldo felt his heart was breaking.
“We analyzed the ransom letter and confirmed that the Shadow Gang did not attempt to ransom any hostages.”
Oswaldo snapped back to reality and hurriedly asked, “Does that mean my wife being kidnapped was an accident?”
The police shook their heads and said, “They had a clear target, as soon as they got ashore, they went straight to your villa.”
“It was evident that Mrs. Dougherty was also their target.”
Oswaldo didn’t understand and asked, “So why didn’t they want a ransom?”
The policeman across suddenly had a look of pity in his
eyes.
“The Shadow Gang also engaged in the business of hiring assassins for murder.”
