Chapter 126
Ava glanced at me and didn’t find my plan to be a bad idea.
Instead, she calmly asked, “When do you plan to go, and do you have an idea where the items are? If you encounter a locked safe, have you thought about how to deal with it?”
I was a bit stunned since I had just come up with the idea and hadn’t thought it through yet.
I figured that since I had been staying at the Lopez family villa for a while, I could use the excuse of going home to fetch something. The household staff probably wouldn’t notice me, and I planned to
sneak into Victoria’s study and retrieve the letter while she was away.
However, hearing Ava’s questions, I suddenly realized that Victoria might have put the letter in a
safe.
Seeing my expression, Ava knew I hadn’t fully planned it yet and that it was just an idea that came
into me right at this moment.
She calmly spoke, “I understand that you’re left with no choice and are forced to resort to this plan. I can help you with opening the safe, but before we go, we must come up with a detailed plan.”
I held Ava’s hand and thanked her, “Thank you for not stopping me but helping me.”
“I know how important your father’s belongings are to you,” Ava replied calmly.
I looked at her, feeling deeply moved by having such an understanding best friend who knew me so
well.
Taking the risk to enter the tiger’s den was better than being threatened by Victoria and having to be
submissive.
After clocking out of work, me and Ava grabbed a quick bite and drove to the Lopez family villa.
We used Ava’s car to avoid arousing Victoria’s suspicions.
I parked the car in a spot opposite the Lopez family villa, and we watched Victoria leave.
After a while, Bella also left the house.
The two got out of the car.

Chapter 126
Ava was a bit curious, “How did you know they would all leave tonight?”
I looked at her and said, “I’ve lived here for so long, how could I not know? On Friday and Saturday nights, very few people stay in the villa. They all attend various banquets to expand their social
connections.”
I sarcastically remarked, “Moreover, if they all go out, they won’t let the servants stay at home, fearing their hands and feet will get dirty.”
Ava raised her eyebrows but remained silent from my remark about the family.
I felt fortunate that I hadn’t thrown away the key to the Lopez family villa.
The two entered the villa and quickly went upstairs toward Victoria’s office.
As we opened the door, I went straight to the study, while Ava headed for the safe.
I started to rummage through the bookshelves. At some point, I already looked at half of the bookshelf, but Ava is still sitting in one place, not making any physical moves toward the safe.
I couldn’t help but feel worried, “Ava, can you unlock the safe?”
Ava kept her head down, fingers moving quickly through her laptop. Without looking at me, she calmly said, ” With the help of the size of the notches on the safe’s number dial and the allowable error range, I am able to reduce the number of possible combinations significantly. Afterward, I will use a program that I created on my computer to further reduce the combinations from one million to one thousand. To prevent the alarm from sounding, I utilize a blocking program and then proceed to attempt to crack the safe quickly. Rest assured, it should only take me approximately half an hour to successfully open it.”
I didn’t fully understand what Ava was saying about the technical details, but I trusted my friend’s expertise and knew that Ava was doing her best to help. I quickened my search, frantically going through half of the bookshelves, but Ava still had no progress with unlocking the safe.
Feeling a sense of urgency and desperation, my anxiety grew with each passing moment. I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving empty–handed, without the letter that could potentially protect me from Victoria’s threats.
I decided to take more drastic measures and even violently opened the drawer beside Victoria’s desk, hoping the letter might be hidden there. However, my efforts were in vain as the letter
remained elusive.
After what felt like an eternity of searching, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed, exhausted, and anxious. “Ava, any progress?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

I put the envelope in my pocket and quickly took out Victoria’s documents and contract cle opened my phone’s camera and swiftly took pictures of them.
Ava stood beside me, not stopping me. After all, Victoria had gone to great lengths to thecation for and I needed something to hold against her so I could live in peace.
Otherwise, I would be at her mercy without any bottom line.
I had just opened a new document to capture more evidence when we heard the distinct sound of the front door opening downstairs.
The noise sent a shiver down my spine, my body freezing with fear.
