The servant quickly nodded and went to make the call.
As Lukas continued to apply the disinfectant to my wound, I couldn’t help but flinch and close my eyes in pain.
Observing the graceful curve of my chin, Lukas couldn’t help but notice the beauty of it. However, he
quickly reminded himself that my vulnerability was caused by Bella’s attack.
Lukas’s throat moved slightly as he controlled his emotions. He lessened the pressure of his fingers
while disinfecting my wound.
I couldn’t resist asking, “Mr. Strakovski, is the disinfection done?”
Lukas, who had been cold and distant, seemed to be somewhat surprised by my question. His face
was a little worried, but his voice carried a tinge of sarcasm as he replied, “Weren’t you quite
formidable when facing me before? And didn’t you get into a fight with Gwendolyn King at the
Butterfly Pavilion? How come you can’t handle a woman now? Where’s that spirit you had when you beat her?”
My face tensed, but I couldn’t help but open my eyes slightly to glance at Lukas. “I have a sprain,
remember?”
Lukas snorted. “Yeah, you changed from Joan of Arc to a damsel in distress.”
It was the first time that I heard Lukas make a joke out of my predicament.
I couldn’t help it, and the corners of my mouth rose slightly. “I’m not that fragile; I just wasn’t prepared,” I said with a faint smile.
Lukas raised an eyebrow, “Is that so? Then remember, you should always be on guard.”
With a teasing smile, I responded, “All right, I’ll remember.”
Lukas continued disinfecting my wound meticulously and ignored Bella as if she were a filthy object
covered in germs. “What happened here?” He asked the servant as he treats my wounds.
The servant had a good memory. He described the conversation between me and Bella, how I ignored Bella’s threats, and the situation where he rushed over to catch Bella like a mad dog.
After hearing the servant’s description, Lukas didn’t get angry anymore. Instead, he said, “Don’t let

The servant nodded repeatedly in agreement.
The doctor arrived promptly, and he immediately attended to me, giving me two injections in my arm to help with the pain and prevent infection.
The doctor also brought antibiotics and scar removal ointment to heal the wound and remove scars.
Lukas seemed to be in a good mood while tending to my wound. When Victoria arrived, Lukas was still carefully applying ointment to my neck.
Seeing Bella crouching against the wall, her face covered in blood and tears, Victoria felt a twinge of pain. After all, she was her biological mother.
But Lukas’s silence spoke volumes, and Victoria understood that now was not the time to speak up.
Lukas ignored Victoria’s presence and continued to take care of my wound.
To help the ointment absorb better and let the wound breathe, he wrapped several layers of gauze around my neck, covering the wound.
After finishing the task, he looked at my fair face and made a somewhat unexpected remark, “Looks like a hanged ghost.”
My mouth twitched. I understood what Lukas meant – a hanged ghost had a white cloth wrapped around its neck.
“Help Madam up to the second floor,” Lukas instructed the servant after completing the treatment.
The servant immediately approached and extended a hand to support me.
My eyes flickered with understanding; I could tell that Lukas didn’t want me to be involved in handling this matter. After all, my surname was still Lopez.
Unfortunately, I no longer had any emotional ties to the Lopez family.
I disappeared at the top of the stairs, and Lukas finally sat down on the sofa.

Lukas let out a cold snort, thinking about my injuries, his voice filled with anger, “Still young? Isn’t she the same age as Sophia, Victoria?”
Victoria was too scared to utter a word.
Lukas’s gaze turned sarcastic as he continued, “Besides, she injured Sophia. I still need to consider Sophia’s feelings. Victoria, what do you take Sophia and me for?”
Though Lukas’s tone remained calm, Victoria felt weak in the knees from fear. She stammered, “Mr. Strakovski, it’s my fault. I failed to discipline her properly. On behalf of Bella, I apologize to Sophia and you. I promise I will teach her a lesson when we get back.”
Lukas ignored Victoria’s apology and straightforwardly stated, “A crazy dog like her should be kept confined at home. This is not a place for her to run wild. If she insists on seeking death, then she’ll end up abandoned in the wilderness.”
Victoria’s face turned pale and then red. She resented Bella for causing this trouble. She glanced at her curled up on the ground and nodded repeatedly, “Mr. Strakovski, I understand. Such a thing will never happen again in the future.”
Lukas stood up from the sofa lazily and said, “It’s best if you understand. Also, regardless of whether Bella is injured or crippled, she must get married to Gerald today. I’ve already talked to the Hughes Family, and they are more than willing to marry Bella today. Once this opportunity is missed, there won’t be another chance anymore.”
Lukas deliberately emphasized the word “today.”
