Chapter 17
Lukas turned around in surprise and scanned me with his eyes like a radar, looking at me up and
down. “Give me her information!”
The assistant took a quick look at me and immediately figured out my name. After all, as a designer with a reputation in the jewelry industry, he recognized most of them.
The assistant quickly made a call to investigate, and in no time, my information was sent over. He handed it directly to Lukas.
Seeing my name, Lukas Strakovski’s eyes flickered as he thought about my name, “Em…Sophia!”
I quickly nodded, “Yes, it’s me!”
Lukas didn’t respond to me and instead looked at the photo of the information, lost in thought.
Sophia Lopez, a designer at Trifleming Jewelry, CEO Hugo Roberts’s girlfriend. At the age of eighteen, she designed a piece of jewelry that sold well both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, it seemed that she hadn’t produced any outstanding work in the last five years.
Was this… the death of a genius?
However, among the people related to Sophia Lopez, her stepsister, Bella Lopez, had won several awards in the last two years. Just yesterday, she won the championship in the city–level jewelry
competition.
Moreover, her design style was extremely similar to Sophia’s!
In an instant, Lukas Strakovski had some thoughts about this matter. He had seen all sorts of dirty
tricks in this industry, and this matter is no different.
He glanced at me and slightly parted his lips, “Alright!”
I finally breathed a sigh of relief. I married Lukas not for anything else but to make Hugo regret it.
I wanted to make him understand that from this day forward, she, Sophia Lopez, would no longer
value someone like him!
Since it was Lukas Strakovski, they took a special fast track to complete the marriage registration.
Everything went smoothly, except for the teasing remarks from the Civil Affairs Bureau staff when

they were signing the documents, all of whom are saying that they were a perfect match.
blushed a little at the time, but Lukas simply replied, “Different worlds!”
Half an hour later, I came out of the Civil Affairs Bureau as Lukas Strakovski’s wife.
Through the glass door of the Civil Affairs Bureau, I saw Bella and Hugo still queuing there.
Lukas Strakovski glanced at me. “Get in the car, let’s go eat first!” He simply stated, expressionless.
I pursed her lips and nodded. “Let’s go!” I replied.
We had just gotten into the car when I saw Hugo walking out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, holding
ella’s hand, looking upset as he checked his phone.
In the hands of Bella were two newly issued marriage certificates – hers and Hugo’s.
At that moment, my phone rang.
Lukas glanced at me and then looked out the window.
I opened the camera and took a picture of them before answering the call and recording it.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hey, Sophia, where are you?” Hugo’s voice sounded urgent.
“I’m at the hotel. What’s up?” I calmly replied.
“Well, Sophia, I just saw a media report saying I came to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and they even
posted a photo. The woman in the photo isn’t you, but they speculated that I betrayed you and came to get married to someone else. It’s a huge joke. You must not believe it!” Hugo’s voice was filled wi
anxiety.
My eyes flickered. “So, who is that woman, and why are you at the Civil Affairs Bureau?” I asked.
“I… she’s just a friend. She asked me to bring her here suddenly. She wanted to get married to her boyfriend! I was just trying to help, but who knew things would get out of hand!” Hugo Roberts
explained clumsily.
“Do I know that friend of yours?” My tone remained indifferent as if I felt no emotional connection
to the man on the other end of the phone.
She…You haven’t seen her before. Her boyfriend and I are college classmates, but I can’t say we’re

very familiar with her!” Hugo continued to explain awkwardly.
“I see. I’ll hang up now.” I continued to speak indifferently, but before I could hang up, Hugo
continued to talk.
“Wait! Sophia, since you believe me, let’s hold a press conference this afternoon to clarify the
situation. The current situation will have a huge impact on Trifleming Jewelry! You don’t know how those idiots online are criticizing me. You must stand by my side!” Hugo pleaded.
My lips curled into a sneer. Yes, I should definitely stand by my boyfriend who betrayed me!
I ended the call directly.
fter ending the call, I fell silent, lowering my head without saying a word.
Lukas glanced at me. “Ex–boyfriend?” He asked in a tone that sounded like he was talking to a
subordinate,
I replied with a faint hum.
Lukas’s tone was indifferent as he said, “I don’t want you to have too much involvement with him
after we get married.”
I raised my head and calmly looked at Lukas Strakovski. “Rest assured, I won’t. But you also have to promise to keep our marriage low–profile. You draw too much attention, and I don’t want to attract
too much scrutiny.”
“That’s up to you.” Lukas said, as though it had nothing to do with him.
I looked away, continuing to lower my head in thought.
I presumed that with Luke’s unapproachable disposition, he wouldn’t speak again, but to my surprise, he suddenly asked, “Did Bella Lopez use your design plans for the competition?
I looked up at him, eyes wide in shock. I didn’t expect that he would ask such a question to me. “How did you know?” I asked back.
No one knew about this matter, except for me and those two despicable pair, and no one else should
know.
Lukas’s tone was indifferent, “Anyone with a brain could figure it out.”
I still had not recovered from my shock. “Is that so? I thought…nobody knew.”

Lukas didn’t respond to my words but instead asked me, “Do you need help?”
quickly shook my head. “No, I’ll handle my revenge on my own. However, you need to give me some time. After I get my revenge, I can completely cut ties with Hugo Roberts. Trust me, I won’t do anything to betray you!”
Lukas Strakovski glanced at me, looking somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected this woman to be so strong–willed. “Since you don’t need me to help you with revenge, what is the purpose of marrying
me?” He asked.
“To find an exit!” I replied candidly.
He nodded and felt somewhat impressed by me. “You can handle your revenge in any way you like, ut since you’ve chosen to marry me, you must fulfill your marital duties as a wife. I don’t want a wife in name only…”
Although he said something so suggestive, Lukas’s tone sounded casual, as if he were talking about today’s weather.
