Third POV
Lukas lazily lifted his eyes, his demeanor composed as ever. “Let them wait in the reception room. Go and call Sophia.”
Elena was a member of the Schmidt family. Lukas, wanting to maintain good relations with Elias, decided to handle the situation himself.
Martins nodded and left to fetch Sophia while Lukas settled back at his Mesk.
He casually popped a mint candy into his mouth before finally making his way to the reception
room.
As Lukas stepped inside, upon entering, Lukas immediately noticed Gerald flailing about before kneeling on the ground. The aftermath of last night’s altercation with Lukas was evident from the welts scattered across his body, causing him to wince in pain each time he moved.
Lukas maintained his stoic expression as he walked over and seated himself on the sofa.
Elena’s eyes lit up with admiration as she gazed at Lukas. She had heard rumors of Emily going abroad and saw an opportunity with Lukas, now seemingly single.
With a smile, she spoke, “Lukas, I heard that Gerald upset you last night. That’s why I brought him here today to make amends.”
“You speak of making amends, but where are the actual amends?” Lukas raised an eyebrow
indifferently.
Elena’s smile faltered for a moment. The apology was merely a pretext. She hadn’t anticipated laikas: taking it seriously.
The jewelry industry in Mediopolis is flourishing. Gerald Hughes was her cousin. The Hughes family also ran a successful jewelry business.
Unfortunately, Gerald, the fool, had carelessly offended Lukas last night. As a result, several crucial business deals for the Hughes family fell through this morning.

Laikas couldn’t help but feel a twinge of annoyance at her description of Sophia. He let out a light snort but remained silent.
“Although Mr Strakovski said that, you should still apologize to him first. After all, Miss Lopez is an important employee of Mr Strakovski’s company!” Elena gently tugged at Gerald’s sleeve, urging him to apologize to Lukas first.
Gerald finally seemed to grasp the seriousness of the situation. He hurriedly bent over, knocking his head repeatedly on the cold marble floor. “Mr Strakovski, I have been blind and failed to recognize your greatness. You are a person of great magnanimity, so please forgive me this time. I truly know my mistake!”
As he heard the words, Lukas narrowed his eyes slightly. “You know, it’s been a long time since I personally hit someone.”
Gerald looked puzzled by the statement, his eyes filled with hewilderment.
“I was so disgusted that even the bodyguards wished to swap places with me sooner.” Lukas’s lips curlyl into a cold smile.
Gerald’s already pale face to drain off any remaining color. Since the moment he discovered the, identity of his assailant, fear had gnawed at Gerald relentlessly.
Within a mere day, several vital business deals orchestrated by his family had crumbled into ruins. He knew he had recklessly offended someone he shouldn’t have dared to cross paths with.
Elena observed Gerald’s distressed appearance, her expression changing as she turned to Lukas. “Lukas, please forgive him this time. My cousin didn’t know the situation!”
With her eyes fixed on Lukas’s changing expressions, Elena continued, “I heard it was the Lopez family’s idea. They said that Gerald would marry Sophia eventually, so being together beforehand wouldn’t matter. My cousin was confused at that moment and didn’t know that Miss Lopez was

Sophia POV
I had just entered the room when I felt Elena looking at me with a slightly hostile gaze.
That gaze was fleeting, though, and she gave me a forced smile.
Lukas’s tone was indifferent, neither happy nor angry. “The main character has arrived. Whether you want to apologize or seek revenge, it’s up to you.”
Hearing this, Gerald immediately knelt and crawled towards me, bowing his head vigorously. “Miss Lopes, I was wrong. I’m not worthy to be called a human. I’m worse than a beast. Please spare me. I really didn’t mean to do that last night. It was because of your mother’s orders that I dared to act that way. Please forgive me, all right?”
