My heart turned cold like the chilling wind from the Antarctic.
I never expected that Lukas’s intention was purely physical, with no emotions involved.
Perhaps, when I initially proposed to register our marriage and make him my backup plan, I should have expected this.

Around ten o’clock, Olivia left for a moment.
When she returned, she had a triumphant smile on her face, with Ella following behind her.
She glanced provocatively at me and turned to Ella, saying with a smile, “Miss Rhodes, we’ve almost finished discussing yesterday. You’ve seen my preliminary design sketches. Today, we can sign the private customization contract, right?”
Ella nodded, her tone soft but serious, “The jewelry I need for a senior’s banquet is crucial to me. The design must be perfect.”
Olivia assured, patting her chest, “Rest assured, my design will definitely satisfy you.”
Just as Olivia finished speaking, the receptionist at the design department called out, “Designer Lopez, there’s someone downstairs who wants to see you.”
I raised an eyebrow, but I still got up and went downstairs.
Olivia snorted indifferently and said to Ella, “Miss Rhodes, let’s go to the meeting room.”
Ella nodded and followed Olivia to the meeting room.

I was somewhat surprised, “Mr. Rivers, if you want to thank me for yesterday, there’s no need to force yourself to order jewelry from me.”
Anthony shook his head, “Where did you get that idea? It’s my mother’iftieth birthday in a few
ays, and I’ve been wanting to order a set of suitable jewelry for her. Since I haven’t found at
designer yet, I came to you.”
I felt flattered. I never expected that a small favor yesterday would lead Anthony to give me business
today.
Seeing my stunned expression, Anthony couldn’t be help but laugh, “Miss Lopes, are you planning to negotiate with me here?”
I immediately shook my head, “Mr. Rivers, please come this way. Let’s go upstairs.”
Anthony smiled and followed me into the elevator.
It was only now that I realized that Anthony had indeed come to commission a private order from
