Chapter 83
Jameson hadn’t expected me to slap him. He stared at me in disbelief.
I scoffed. “Talk about what? Talk about whether or Xandra will spend Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with you while the other takes Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays?
“Or are you going to talk about how much I’m getting back from the 50 million dollars that I gave you five years ago? Am I getting just a few million back? Or 10 million? There’s nothing for us to talk about, and I don’t want to speak with you either.”
I shoved him aside so I could charge over to the door, but a strong pair of arms suddenly wrapped around my waist and lifted me off the ground. I shrieked in terror.
“Let go of me!”
Without a word, Jameson forcefully carried me over to the bedroom before locking the door. Before I could process what was happening, he had already thrown me onto the bed. The bed was springy enough that I nearly bounced off it.
As I tried to scramble away, disorientated, Jameson climbed on top of me, his weight almost crushing me. His weight knocked all the breath out of my lungs. I couldn’t breathe with him on top of me, but then I felt a hot pair of lips against mine.
“We will never split up! Let’s have a child together, Wyn. Everything will be alright once we have a child of our own…” Jameson whispered.
As he restrained me, I felt him rip my clothes off Terror ran through me as I trembled.
“Let… me… go…

My head spun. Something awakened deep inside my mind. It was a primordial sense of fear.
Jameson ignored my pleas, kissing me however he wanted.
“Stop pretending, Wynonna. You usually seduced me whenever you could. So, why are you pretending to be some blushing maiden now?”
I kicked him after he said that.
“You should get the hell away from me! Jameson Brown, you’re a beast!”
It was like he didn’t hear anything I yelled at him. He was too focused on ripping my clothes
off.
Despair poured off me like the way my tears streamed down my face.
I had no idea how, but I summoned the strength to give Jameson a brutal kick as he fumbled with his clothes. Then, I made a break for the door, but my forehead collided with it with a
loud thud.

Something warm and sticky dripped down my forehead. Despite my dizziness, I could hear Jameson’s shocked gasp.
My body began to slump to the floor, despite how I fought against the pull of gravity. I saw Jameson frantically running toward me. Just as he was about to touch me, I heard someone breaking down the door outside.
“Wyn!” someone called out in panic.
I tried to answer, but the blood dripping from my forehead obscured my vision.
The door swung open at last. The next moment, I saw someone charge at Jameson before taking him down with a single punch.
I wanted to wave for help, but then that person took me into their arms. I could hear a familiar voice say to me, “It’s okay, Wyn. You don’t have to be scared anymore.”
I did my best to see my savior through the blood obscuring my vision, but then darkness stole my consciousness.
I fell into a deep sleep after.
“Charles!” I shouted as I returned to the world with a jolt.
“You’re awake!” A clear, melodious voice called out to me from my side.
I stared at him, stunned. “Where’s my brother?”
Something flashed in Tristan’s eyes. “He’s still overseas.”
My emotions bubbled over. “Impossible! I clearly saw him. Charles saved me…” As I babbled, I tried to get out of bed, but Tristan stopped me. He regarded me with a serious look.
“Stay in bed and rest,” he said.
I wanted to refuse, but he scooped me into his arms and deposited me back onto the bed.
