Chapter 86
Shaun looked at me sincerely and added, “Personally, I believe this is the best punishment for the abuser.”
Lizzie immediately agreed. “Yes! Ms. Lambert, we’ll do everything we can to help you.”
I nodded slowly. “Okay!” I said, feeling a glimmer of hope.

Jameson walked out of the police station, his face still bruised.
When Xandra saw him, she immediately ran to him.
She hugged him with tears in her eyes. “Jameson, you must have suffered so much in there.”
Then, she started complaining about how heartless the police were. No matter who she turned to for help, the officers insisted on having Jameson detained for five days.
“Jameson, I tried everything I could,” she said, her voice filled with guilt. “The police said… They said you were suspected of abduction and… rape… So they needed to conduct a full investigation.”
After she finished speaking, she realized that Jameson had already gotten into his car without saying a word.
Jameson sat in the back seat, his face expressionless, and his gaze unusually cold.
Xandra quickly sat beside him and urged the driver, “Let’s get out of here.”
With that, the car pulled away.
Jameson remained silent throughout the journey. He stared out the car window, seemingly deep in thought.
Xandra tried to snuggle closer and asked sweetly, “Jameson, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking to me?”
Jameson glanced at her and subtly shifted away, putting space between them.
Xandra felt hurt and upset by his behavior. Tears welled up in her eyes as her voice trembled. ” Jameson, I know you’re upset, but I haven’t been able to eat or sleep properly for the last few days. I’m really worried about you…”
She added, “I know none of this is your fault. It’s all Wynonna’s doing…”
Jameson, who had been silent since getting in the car, gave her a cold look at that moment.
His
gaze made Xandra feel strangely scared.

She shrank back and said, “Jameson, I–I didn’t mean to say anything bad about Ms. Lambert, but she’s the one who caused this to happen to you…”
Jameson remained expressionless and said flatly, “She knows.”
Xandra was confused. “Know what?”
Jameson looked at her coldly and replied, “She knows we slept together.”
Xandra gasped. “How could that be? I didn’t tell anyone.”
Once again, Jameson turned to look out the car window. “She figured it out.”
A sarcastic glint flickered in Xandra’s eyes. However, her voice was soft and weak as she said, What should we do, Jameson? How are we going to handle this? Will Ms. Lambert take revenge on me? I’m so scared…”
She took the opportunity to lean into Jameson’s embrace. But in the next moment, he coldly pushed her away.
Xandra was stunned. “Jameson!” she called out, feeling wronged.
“I’m tired. I need to rest,” Jameson replied flatly, his expression blank.
“Then, what about my welcome home party?” Xandra asked hesitantly.
“It’s still happening,” Jameson replied as a strange smile crept across his face.
Xandra’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
After saying that, she realized she might be getting a bit carried away with her obvious excitement.
She lowered her head and explained hesitantly, Jameson, I know you’re not in a good mood right now. How about we postpone the party for a few days?
“Once you’re well–rested and feel better… and we’ve cleared things up with Ms. Lambert, we can invite the guests over again.”
Jameson remained silent, his expression as indifferent as ever.
Feeling anxious, Xandra urged, “Jameson, please say something!”
Jameson said coldly, “Postpone the party for three days, then proceed with the invitations as planned.”
Xandra looked puzzled. “You mean… we’re still inviting Ms. Lambert?”
