Chapter 91
Chloe chattered away beside me. “I told you he likes you. Wyn, seriously. Compared to that tasteless scumbag Jameson, Mr. Zook is a true catch.
“His character is admirable, his family background is impressive, and his strength is remarkable. He stands out from the rest.
“Wyn, don’t feel burdened. Things between you and Jameson have been a mess for ages. This is just a step toward making things right.”
Chloe’s words left me speechless. I finally chose a sleek, midnight blue cocktail dress that boasted a subtle shimmer.
I had never worn it before and had no idea why I bought it, but the quality and craftsmanship suggested it might be a special handmade piece. I held it up and smiled in satisfaction.
Seeing that I wasn’t saying much, Chloe quickly picked out some matching jewelry for me.
In the end, we chose a set of pearl accessories, and she styled my hair into a voluminous bun.
“Ta–da!” Chloe exclaimed as she pushed me in front of the full–length mirror.
She beamed with pride. “See, I told you. You’re beautiful, Wyn.”
I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes sparkled, and my cheeks were rosy.
The dress outlined my figure perfectly–elegant yet full of youthful vitality. My skin looked radiant and flawless. My cheeks also had a healthy, natural blush. Even I liked what I saw, and that was saying a lot.
Chloe exaggeratedly wiped her eyes. “Oh, seeing you like this makes me feel like a mother bird watching her baby leave the nest. Go on, you two lovebirds. I’ll stay behind and watch the
house for Mr. and Mrs. Zook.”
I laughed and playfully shoved her shoulder. “Why don’t you come with us?”
Chloe waved her hands dramatically in the air. “No way. Please spare me, Ms. Lambert, oh dear heiress extraordinaire. I’m too tired. I’ll just stay home, eat some grilled meat, watch dramas, and dream about a swoon–worthy romance.
I smiled. “Okay, see you later.”
Chloe glanced at the time and muttered, “Hurry up. You’re going to be late! But seriously, Mr. Zook is taking you to a dinner party for your first date? Really?”
She continued grumbling and pouted but still firmly pushed me out of the room.
As I stepped into the living room, I saw Tristan standing around while waiting for me.

Our eyes met, and I felt a blush creeping up my face.
He had changed his outfit too. He wore a light blue blazer over a crisp white shirt with the collar unbuttoned. A floral–patterned silk scarf casually draped around his neck added a touch of elegance to his distinguished look.
His hair was styled naturally and brushed back, with a few strands falling effortlessly over his forehead.
His gaze was filled with admiration for me.
“Wyn.” He paused before adding, “You look gorgeous today.”
I blushed and glanced at his outfit. “We look like… a couple.”
After hesitating for a bit, I pushed the question out of my mouth. “Is it too much?”
Our outfits matched perfectly, even though we hadn’t planned it at all.
He stepped forward and offered his arm. His gaze was calm and steady as he said, “When it’s time to stand out, embrace it.”
“Why?” I asked.
Tristan smiled and replied, “Because it’s the path we must take.”
He sounded so profound that I couldn’t understand him. Then, Tristan led me out the door. The driver was already waiting for us downstairs.
This time, a different colored Maybach awaited us–more luxurious than the black one.
Once we got into the car, Tristan gave my hand a light pat. “We’re just meeting a few respected people this time. Don’t worry.” He kissed my hand lightly as he spoke.
I nodded. My anxious heart was suddenly at ease.
Although Tristan had told me about it in the car, I was still surprised when we arrived.
